Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. It is unique from every other holiday in that there does not seem to be any distractions or pressures that can intrude on this family oriented day. There is no gift exchange, which of course means that there are no crowded malls, maxed out credit cards, looming parcel mailing deadlines, and absolutely no gift return at the end of the weekend. Also, Thanksgiving seems to be a very intimate and immediate family affair with a lack of scheduling and travelling for holiday parties, work functions, extended family gift get togethers, hectic decorating, and every other trapping of many modern holidays. And because Thanksgiving seems to be a time to shun modern day intrusions, Thanksgiving becomes a staple in our memories of childhood as well as the memories that we are creating for our own families.

Thanksgiving holiday recipes and traditions are handed down each and every year, and they seem to evolve just a tiny bit with every holiday that a family experiences. There is of course the turkey, the stuffing, the sweet potato casserole and the oh-so-yummy pumpkin pie. Some families also play or watch football every Thanksgiving (think The Turkey Bowl). Many families also play party games with each other. Party games such as annual charades matches, silly Twister tournaments, round robins of Hungry Hippos and many other games for parties come to mind. Regardless of which party games your family considers a staple for Thanksgiving Day, there is no mistaking the fact that incorporating games for parties into your traditional Thanksgiving day schedule will bring your family together in a way that watching television, playing video games, and exchanging over priced gifts simply cannot achieve.

With hectic schedules, mountains of homework, looming deadlines, and economic pressures, your family deserves to unplug, de-stress, and simply enjoy each other's presence in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Incorporating party games into your family Thanksgiving holidays and family fun nights is simple, inexpensive and enjoyable to do and yet the benefits that are derived can be huge.
