Toys back then are fashioned by hand. Tin toys are formed and curved by a man and perfects them the way kids wanted them. Also some toy makers carve faces and smiles out of wooden blocks for wooden toys and dolls. Cloths of dolls are hand-stitched and handled with care. And because of these, toys are handled with care by kids, because they know that a little mishandling might cause their toys to break .

These vintage antique toys trace back from the time of the Egyptian civilization where dolls have been found from way back then. Most of these dolls are what are called now as rag dolls. Rag dolls are made of clothes. Their eyes can be coals or weaved buttons or seeds from trees. Their dresses can be made of out different kinds of swatches. They are hand stitched, with each limb stuffed with cotton to make them soft. The rag dolls hair can be made of colored yarn, and are sometimes tied into pigtail braids. Most of the vintage toys made of cloth are sometimes made by the mothers themselves , who often give these to their little girls during birthdays and any other kind of special events.

In the 1600's paper became a major material used for making of toys . Playing cards, which are considered as toys at the time was made of paper, drawn with various illustrations. Also, board games such as chess or checkers are popular toys made of paper. In other parts of the world, paper is also an important material for the creation of beautiful dolls.

Tin
In the 1800's in America, tin became a popular material used for creating these antique toys. Tin is malleable and can be bent without difficulty by using a hammer or mallet. But what is more impressive is that old toy makers do fashion tin and coil them using their bare hands. After finishing the doll's body, it can then be painted with the colors that every kid may want. Example of toys made of tin are the dolls. Dolls can be either man or a woman. Apart from dolls, there are also various tin trinkets like a jewelry or music box. Some toys made of tin are also small miniature cars or trains.

Wood
Remember the fairy tale, Pinocchio? Gepeto in the story was a toy maker who created Pinocchio from out of a wood. Vintage antique toys like wooden dolls are personally carved from wood by the toy maker. Other wooden toys are rocker horse, wooden trains and others.
