William Robert Guerin is the first Latin ice hockey player to play competently in the NHL. Born in November 9, 1970, Guerin has already played for various NHL teams including the New York Islanders, San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues. In March 2009, Guerin became part of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He bagged the Stanley Cup championship in 1995 and 2009. Guerin led the US ice hockey team during 2002 Winter Olympics and won the silver medal award. After Guerin and the US team's victory in the Winter Olympics, he was named "Most Valuable Player" of the NHL All-Star Game in 2001. Guerin left the Boston Bruins team in 2002 and signed a 5-year treaty with the Dallas Stars. In 2006, Guerin was allegedly blamed for the team's mislay during the NHL 2005-2006 Season. In July 2006, Guerin left the Dallas Stars and signed a 2 million dollar contract with the St. Louis Blues. Along with colleague Doug Weight, Guerin was able to lead the St. Louis team during the NHL 2006-2007 Season. On February 2007, he became the 214th professional ice hockey player in NHL history.

Raphael Torres is one of Canada's famous hockey players today. Born in October 8, 1981, Torres currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks team as forward. He was a former player for Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets, Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders. Torres started playing professionally at the Ontatio Hockey League (OHL) in 1998. He was NHL's 5th pick for the New York Islanders during the NHL Annual Draft. Torres became visible in the Calder Cup Finals in 2002. He recently traded with Nathan Paetsch for the Buffalo Sabres team during the second round of NHL draft in March 2010.
