Quality back links are the key to getting your website noticed by Google. You created a great website; you optimized to target your keywords, you traded a few links with friends but you are still not showing up in Google after a couple years.

You need to consistently get the word out about your site and to do so is add quality content on relevant sites across the web. This will create direct traffic to your site but most importantly it will create quality back links that Google will crawl. Google will then go to your site and index the information of your pages. The more quality back links you create, the more Google will continue to come back to your site.

You are an expert in your industry, right? Who better to write article content about your products, services, or industry experience? Try writing 1 article a week at first that relates to keywords you are trying to rank for. For example; if you sell gold fish, write an article about how to take care of gold fish. Submit your article to article sites like Ezine Articles and Article Base. These article sites have information on how to properly write your article so read the advice before publishing your first one.

Forum posts are a great way to create quality back links as well. Search forums in your industry, find topics that make sense to you, and join the conversation. Ask quality relevant sites if you can add you information to one of their pages. Explain what the benefit of adding your back link to their site will be. If you have information their users may be interested in. Tell the site owner that the information would benefit their users and they may add your back link.
You will need to be patient when adding back links to see the results. It may take one to several months before you seen any real return for your efforts. If you work on constantly building quality back links, you will see weekly return in Google for all your hard work if you are persistent.
