A career campaign or career development planning is a series of steps in obtaining a new role or niche in your work environment. It may involve directly saying your intentions for a new position or job in your company. More than words , actions speak louder in a job campaign.

Some bosses may tell you to stay in your current position , saying "you are best needed in that position" or "you should stay there longer because you still have so much to learn." See this as a challenge and opportunity. The goal is to perform in such a way that the whole office will notice your efforts, and see that placing you in the target position is for the greatest good of the company.

Some people find themselves in the right places but with the wrong job. Some may have found the right job, but they are convicted that they can do better in other positions. This is where career development planning comes in. A good, ethical and functional career campaign can help the individual be noticed by his/her officemates and higher-ups in the company.

Winning in a career campaign means that an individual can get his/her dream job. More than receiving the desired salary, the individual forms higher self-value and esteem because he/she can perform with the best of his/her abilities in the new job.
