December 21, 2012 marks the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar cycle; and while no dramatic natural catastrophes have yet to occur, 2012 experts including author and healer Eden Sky, claim that the surge of populist's revolutions in the Middle East is a sign that the approaching end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar cycle is influencing life on the planet. While it is impossible to determine with certainty if the proposed influence of the changing star positions in the Heavens is real or projective, it is not unreasonable to assume that certain configurations in the Heavens do have a psychological influence on man's behavor below.

The Mayans, inventors of the Long Count Calendar could not see Sagittarius A, the star cluster surrounding the central dark hole of the Milky Way. To their naked eye's view the cluster was hidden behind the dusty clouds of the dark rift. However, the Mayans, who were astute in astronomical science, probably appreciated the fact that all the stars of the Milky Way rotated around a center, roughly corresponding to the position of the dark rift.

Paradoxically, the Mayans called the dark rift, the streak of dark sky at the center of our Galaxy the gateway to Hell. In virtually every other cosmology, Hell is down and Heaven is up. How is it that in the Mayan cosmology the gateway to Hell is up in the sky? Possibly the origins of their belief devolves from the similarities between the dark rift and the underworld on Earth, traditional site of hell.

First, just as the center of the Earth can be thought of as a point around which the Earth rotates, so the dark rift in the sky is the dark center around which the stars in the Milky Way appear to rotate. Second, just as Hell is relatively dark and sheltered from Heavenly light so the dark rift is dark, in contract to the luminaries that surrounds it. Modern science provides even greater reason to liken the dark rift in the sky to the center of the Earth. The dark rift hides the massive center of gravity around which all the stars in the Milky Way rotate, just as the center of the Earth is the center of gravity for our own sphere.

Taken in this way, Mayan cosmology is really similar to other cosmologies in that the realms of Heaven are light, decentralized and boundless, whereas Hell is dark, massive and close to the center of gravity. If Heaven is described as the source of the emanation of light, as most cosmologies suggest, than dark holes, which swallow up light and emit only darkness are certainly the antithesis of Heaven

December 21, 2012 represents the humbling of the Sun, the celestial body which most visibly represents the rule of light on the Earth. On that day, the bright orb will align with the dark rift, a visible reminder of the fact that the diffuse dense darkness has power over the great source of light on Earth, in that it appears to draws it near and the Sun is unable to resist its pull. This alignment occurs simultaneous with the Winter Solstice, a time when the rule of the Sun in the Northern Hemisphere is at its weakest.

Seers who blame the 2012 phenomenon for causing the current wave of revolutions, point out that the approaching slight to the Sun's rule of light in the Heavens is the source of the recent trend of revolutions against top down leadership on the Earth, which appears to be precipitating a march towards democracy and Plutonism.

On the positive side, experts in the 2012 phenomenon predict that as an outcome of this transition and transformation, the common man will be free to connect to the Universe directly without the need to go through an intermediary. This is the essence of the paradigm shift that is expected to occur in the future Great Sun, author of the Viking book Super Life Secret Codes," noted that religious leaders should stop hindering their followers from relating directly to the Universe. They should turn their follower's attention away from themselves and onto the natural world. This is the essence of the 2012 transformation.
