The organizations who represent a number of different airlines stated that they don't need passengers to become guinea pigs since the long-term effects of second hand smoke from E cigarettes is not know. In addition, E cigarettes are a digital device and airline pilots don't need interference in the cockpit during takeoff and landing or anytime they ought to hear the communications. E cigarettes are electronic and the possibility for interference has not been proven but no one would like to try it.
