For general enrollment, you can sign-up for Medicare Part A and B if you did not sign-up in the initial enrollment period from January 1st through March 31st each year. If you sign-up in this period, your coverage will begin on July 1st and you will pay a late enrollment penalty.

You can sign-up anytime for Medicare Part A and B anytime you or your spouse is working and covered by group insurance, or during the eight month period that begins after your employment ends (if you're 65 years old).
