First of all, you will need to gather your supplies. The supplies you will need are as follows:

- Now, follow the easy steps to start your bathroom counter painting job.

Step 1: Carefully decide what color you want the countertop to be. Think about it in long terms. Ask yourself if this is a color you can stand to look at for a while, or will you get tired of it. Often people make the mistake of painting something too bright, such as a canary yellow, and get tired of it very quickly. Also, decide if the color goes well with the rest of the d�cor in your bathroom. If your shower curtain is red, you do not want a green countertop, for example. An earth tone works well in bathrooms, as well as shades of blue. Keep in mind that after painting, it will take approximately three weeks before you can use your counter. Step 5: After the two coats of primer have dried completely, you are ready to begin painting. Paint one coat of paint and allow it to dry. Then, apply a second coat of paint to be certain all spots are covered, and allow it to dry well before moving on to the next step.

Step 6: Now, you need to seal it with the clear acrylic. It is best if you use two coats of this, allowing one to dry before placing another coat on top of it. The clear acrylic works best with satin or gloss paints; flat or eggshell paint is not suggested. Allow this project to cure for about three weeks and you are ready to use your new bathroom countertop.

If for some reason you are not happy with your results, you can sand the finish after it is cured and apply another coat of paint. Furthermore, this can be done if you simply want to change the color of your bathroom. Painting a bathroom countertop can add a whole new style to your bathroom.
