This virtual cart will hold all of the items that a person wants to buy. At checkout, the user will provide the information that the store needs to be able to access the user's credit card account to add the total value that the user has bought from them. Shipping payment would also be added to the bill, though sometimes shipping fees are paid when the items are delivered to one's home.

What are the advantages of doing this? Well, if you might have noticed, you haven't read anything about waking up early, driving to the store, spending hours in it, falling in line and driving back home. This is because you would do nothing of the sort. If you are shopping online, you don't need to wake up early to save time falling in long queues. You don't have to drive to and fro and waste your energy and pay for gasoline. You also don't have to spend hours shopping online as you would be able to shop for everything in minutes. As an added bonus, you can also shop in different stores all at once.

The Disadvantages of Online Shopping

So, like all other things and businesses in the world, shopping online isn't exactly flawless. It has certain flaws, which would have explained why there are still some people who do not want to shop online. For example, shopping online would sometimes require that you give your credit card information to the online store. Trusted online stores and legitimate shops would have no problem managing this info, but you have to be wary of the people around you. If you are out ordering online, you might want to make sure that the computer you're using is safe and secure, and that no one around would be able to take a peek at what you're typing.

Another drawback is that, sometimes, you would have to wait for days for your orders to arrive, which means that it might not be a good idea to trust these items to be sent and delivered in a day. A good solution to this would be giving an extra amount of time to actually order these items in advance.

The Verdict

So, should you or should you not shop online? Online shopping certainly has many benefits, but it has its disadvantages too. With a little extra amount of security, shopping online certainly would be a good, money and time-saving idea.
