Introduction to Permanent Hair Removal

A lot of people, mostly the ladies, are now considering permanent hair removal methods. But why is there a huge demand for permanence in hair removal? For women, this is a no-brainer. Aethestically, it is more pleasing if women have no hair in their upper lip, leg and armpit which is why ladies end up spending a huge portion of their time shaving, epilating or plucking so to speak. In reality, theres is only one type of permanent hair removal method, and this is electrolysis. Laser hair removal on the other hand, should be considered as a permanent hair reduction method as it does not remove hair completely but it only reduces the count of the hair regrowth.

Electrolysis supposedly gives the best results in general for hair removal. In this method, an electric current is delivered to the hair follicle through a very fine electrode that is very similar to a needle. This hair follicle's root is then literally terminated through that eletrode. There are actually 3 classifications of this hair removal method. There is thermolysis, galvanic and blend.

Thermolysis is radio-frequency electrolysis. It utilizes currents that alternate in order to heat up the follicle, then killing the hair root. Galvanic on the other hand, is the original type when electrolysis was introduced in the world of beauty and cosmetology. This type uses direct current that pushes a chemical change to happen on the hair follicle. The last type, which is blend, is plainly just a "blend" of the 2 types, so that chemical reaction and the heating do the necessary on the hair follicle and the root dies off.

Going back to permanent hair reduction, laser hair removal is the most popular choice. With this method, a laser delivers pulses of light to the area of treatment. This laser light then looks for the dark hair pigment. The color that is darker will then be the laser's trigger that it is the area where the hair follicle is situated. It will then weaken the area which will make the hair on that particular follicle fall out in 2 weeks' time.

In both metods, multiple sessions of treament are required. For electrolysis, the number of sessions needed is dependent on the area that is being treated. For laser hair treatment, this method also needs mutliple treatments, most probably 5 to 6 treatments, in order to achieve the best results. This is mostly due to the fact that on your treatment day, the hairs in your area of treatment would be in different stages of growth.

Whichever hair treatment that you choose, be it removal or reduction, what is important is that one does proper research before one commits to a particular treatment. Permanent hair removal may be common nowadays but preparation is still critical in ensuring that one gets the all the best possible results in the method chosen.
