Flowers can always lighten up a room. There are different kinds of flowers, with different forms, shapes and shades. Just the scent and color can surely make a dull room look elegant and beautiful. Flowers have been used way back in history; to signify a certain message or symbol and have been used for decades when it comes to designing and decorating a house or occasion.

Just as there are lots of flowers, there are also different kinds of flower arrangements. From something very simple, to something absolutely stunning, there is always something in store for you if you want to use these gifts from nature in your home for a little decorating. Although, flower arrangements are usually found in special occasions; there's nothing wrong with having them into your home too.

There are eight basic flower arrangements that you can execute if you're willing to do these by yourself. Below, are at least 3 designs that you can do yourself. You can have a garden of roses and pick some to use inside your home, this is a great way to spend your time and to further improve your creativity when it comes to floral arrangements.

First, there is what we call the Horizontal floral arrangements. What you need is anchor foam, anchor pins or glue, a low container and flowers with the right position to give you the shape of your favored design.

In the middle, insert the focal flowers so they would droop gently over the containers lip on its sides, leave some room for your chosen filler flowers. After this is done, just fill in and around the focal area of the arrangement with foliage and filler flowers.

The second floral arrangements would be the vertical arrangements. Vertical arrangements are the ones that are most commonly used inside homes and hotels. The reason as to why it is the most common is because it's the easiest floral arrangement to execute.

All you need is a vase, some foam with hot glue; take the tallest flower or leaves in hand and cut its stems so that it reaches at least four to three times the vases height. Take your focal flowers and place them within your vases diameter, then fill in some spaced areas with filler flowers when needed.

Triangular arrangements. With this floral design, secure your floral foam and determine the horizontal width and vertical height using small line leaves or flowers. Make sure to make the height higher than its width.

Take your largest focal flower and place it in the heart of your arrangement, slightly lower this to give more balance and weight. Afterwards, take your foliage and filler flowers and fill some spaces in. Make sure to keep it within the arrangements triangular shape.

Other flower arrangements are: Crescent arrangements, Oval arrangements, Minimal arrangements, Hogarth's curve (also known as the lazy "S") and lastly the Free Standing arrangement. You have a choice of your own flowers so if you have them, go ahead and express your creativity with natures gifts to man.
