Continue to spray using the short bursts, while adjusting the air knob, until the runs from your sprayer are equal throughout the width of your oval.

Next, it is important to use practice pieces to test the set up of your spray gun. You want to test this by applying a thin coat that will dry within a minute or so. You will know you are spraying too much by the texture on your test piece. Often, the texture can be described as looking like and orange peel. If you see bare spots, then you know you do not have enough fluid coming out.
