Collection of items still follows a fad in accordance to progressing numbers. This means that as the number of people known to collect an object grows, so are those who want to start collecting the same thing. Collectibles comprise an expansive list of objects acquired by people for their own interests whether the objects are of monetary value or not. Some people collect to eventually display them for public viewing, some do it for investment, some do it due to personal meaning, while some do it as a hobby. Collectibles can be unusual finds, old objects, and even recently manufactured pieces that equate to a collection value.

Stamps. A few reasons why people love to collect stamps: the dates when they were made, the pictures containing historical figures and places, the places where it comes from, and the people who sent it to them.

Coins and Bills. Old coins are popular among collectors because of the rate money changes. It is known that the older a coin is, the higher its value because of its mineral composition. In general, collectibles follow a historical trail because most objects are collected in reference to their rarity in the present time. Vintage products are for expensive acquisition these days and so are antiques. Whereas most objects collected are non-living, some people prefer collecting living creatures like the following:

Birds. Rare birds can be subject to collection because of their plumage or their overall appearance. With strict laws in the importance of keeping them in their natural habitat and those statutes regarding hunting, collectors may find birds more difficult to collect.

Insects. Collectors are attracted by butterfly colors. Frames of preserved butterflies are a common sight in movies, historical institutions, homes, and even offices.

Reptiles. With their relatives dating back from the Triassic period, reptiles descended from the lineage of dinosaurs. The scientific and historic reasons for reptile collection are enough justification for their collection.

For the three commonly collected animals above, most are collected preserved than alive.
