You may feel rushed to call an ac service contractor, but before you hire the first contractor whose name you find in the telephone book to make repairs, you should cool out and take time to conduct some research.

Get at least three quotes for service from three different companies. Make sure that you get the bids in writing. The bid should include a complete description of the work that needs to be performed and the materials that need to be used. Compare the quotes. Do not let price be the only deciding factor in your process. Make sure that the quoted price is in line with the work that needs to be done. If you receive a bid that seems unusually higher than the other ones you received, you should probably avoid that contractor.

. Find out if the company provides any type of warranty and make sure that you read and understand the terms that are listed therein. If you have a third party warranty or insurance policy, find out if the contractor will honor that policy and if the repairs needed are covered by that policy.

Be sure that you keep track of all paperwork generated and of all maintenance service dates. Choosing an ac service should not be a rushed affair; it should be carefully researched and all correspondence and phone communiqu should be effectively documented.
