In order to write the body of the press release, there are certain steps you will want to take. The press release should be written as it would appear in a news story. You want to make sure you follow certain steps to make your press release look like a news story.

Important Steps to Create the Body for the Press release
1. The press release should start with the date and city in which the press release is originated from.

2. The lead or first sentence of the press release should grab the reader and engage them in the press release. The next one to two sentences of the press release will expand on the lead sentence.

3. The press release body should be compact. Do not use long sentences and avoid repetition.

4. The first paragraph of the press release should sum up the press release and the subsequent content contained in the press release. The press release must be interesting or else no one will read the article.

5. Present the actual facts, goals, events, products, services, people, plans, and projects of the company.

6. Provide maximum use of concrete facts. You should communicate the 4 ws and the h.

Who are the people products, items, dates and other things related to the news?

What is the purpose behind the news?

Why is your company the source of the news?
