The washing machine brand was first founded in 1893 and the name changed in 1925. Maytag was smaller and decided to just make washers and dryers and sell them alongside ovens and fridges made by other companies. That makes the brand heavily reliable in the washer and dryer line.

Maytag parts eventually stopped marketing fridges and ovens, but it began making other items later on such as dishwashers and food dispensers. The company doubled in size by 1980 and got its current name of Maytag Corporation.

In recent years, the research and development portion of the company developed front load washers and matching dryers to go along with them. These models save energy over regular washer and dryer sets and they have become very popular over the years.
