This addiction has been further supported with the arrival of online stores, because now shoppers and shopaholics alike don't have to drive to the nearest store or mall to go shopping. This gives them more time to do other things while browsing the latest shopping catalogues online. For impulsive buyers, this activity can easily land them in debt, especially if they don't keep track of their purchases.

There are several signs that can show if a person is addicted to online deal shopping. The first sign is when a person feels the need to hide his/her purchases from their family members. This is usually done to avoid any additional arguments about the amount of money that the person is spending on online shopping, which is also another sign that a person is becoming a shopping addict.

People who have this addiction also feel deprived if they don't get to buy something after a certain period, have maxed out credit cards, and make unneeded purchases. If the urge is still there, the best way to fight this addiction is by cutting up all available credit cards. This is a definite way to prevent people from burying themselves in deeper debt, because the only money that they can spend is the cash that they have.

It is possible that a person has a friend who seems to have this problem. One can always help their friends curb their shopping enthusiasm by teaching them how to save on their purchases. Does Friend A spend about $600 on clothes? One can always bring her to stores that sell clothes at lower prices, such as bargain outlets. One can also introduce these friends to activities that don't require spending, like a picnic in the park, a bike ride, etc. Friends can also help their shopaholic buddies to control their spending by encouraging them not to shop.

Online deal shopping is a fun activity, but one should always remember to do it in moderation. Doing something excessively is always a bad thing, as seen in your credit card receipts and debt reports.
