MLM Success Is Definitely Possible, But What Is the Real Price Of It All?

As somebody who has been in the home business arena for more than 6 years I have actually seen virtually every aspect of this industry. From the triumphs of the leaders who fought tooth and nail for the freedom they so wanted, to the struggle and heartbreak of the many others that attempt to follow in their footsteps. But there is one trend that I observed in the big MLM leaders' teachings over time.

The leaders offer the lifestyle, but the life they live is normally far different than the life they promise to everyone else, that THEY were promised themselves! The lifestyle provided to them by reaching what they thought about to be MLM success was far different than what they originally enrolled for. In reality they merely traded one job for another; the more success they have, the more they're chained to it no matter what they do.

Without naming names, there are even some extremely respected leaders that even promote that being tied to your MLM business was somehow noble and cool, and your dream is pathetic if you do not do just that.

Personally, that wasn't what I subscribed for.

The Problems I have actually Seen With the Old MLM Success Model

1. There is much more work involved than the leaders let on about.

They say just get 3 in who get 3 in, who get 3 in ... but it essentially never works like that. The only truthful answer to getting the MLM success you're seeking is to get 2 sales and/or signups per day on your own, and when you just have your physical body, your time, and your emotional strength to withstand rejection after rejection (some harsher than others) are the only things you can leverage utilizing the old means, it significantly limits what you can produce, and the time in which you can produce.

On top of that, many of the strategies that are still being pushed by even the most sophisticated MLM companies are the tired, restricted traditional methods of what used to accomplish MLM success, like getting people to home meetings to convince their friends to purchase the product and/or join the business. The reality is that the people that you're trying to bring in just don't want to do what you're doing!

There were a skilled few who could pull it off and get the MLM success all of us dream of, but the fact is most of us don't have the sales training, the rolodex, the rich & powerful pals in our direct sphere of influence, or any of the other stuff that you hear that many of these MLM success stories had in the background that they do not actually discuss.

In fact what occurs is that we're sold on how "anyone can do this" by a master salesperson while they forget to discuss the abilities that you need to learn to get any traction, and the sacrifice that has to be made. It is improving in that regard depending on which business and/or group of leaders you go with, but the misinformation epidemic still runs rampant in the industry no matter where you turn.

2. It produces gigantic undue stress in lots of close relationships.

In my quest for MLM success I personally had a very strong, really jarring experience while speaking with my friends and family about enrolling with the MLM I was in at the time.

The one time that truly sticks out is when I was just fresh in my very first MLM, and I attempted talking with one of my best friends about it. I do not remember exactly how it escalated, but it really quickly sent him into a straight up rage, to the point where I actually thought that my buddy will physically attack me just for even talking to him about this. Just that was enough to stop me speaking with anybody else about this for a while, particularly to him.

How on earth, in good conscience, can I realistically expect to ask people to put themselves through something like that?

3. The leaders are selling a dream that they themselves are not living.

I'm uncertain if you can associate with this, but I knew some people personally, who were actually very successful in the eyes of every person in the company, who would fly around the country by themselves dime, attempting to sell the dream of freedom, of time, of being with their family, and all that good stuff.

Nevertheless, typically what you see beneath it all is just somebody who is so damn worried with handling family, pounding phones to get brand-new people in, attempting to keep a cap on the outrageous attrition levels in their team, and now flying across the country (again on their own dime) to tell hotel rooms complete of people that "this life could be yours."

4. The commissions are insanely low; it take hundreds of people to actually break even on prices of doing business.

Let's be real right here, no matter what MLM business you go into, the rate of people taking a loss on the expense of their autoship alone (not to mention whatever costs they incur on whatever advertising they try) is definitely staggering. The bar of how many people that you have to bring into your business just to break even in your monthly expenses has the tendency to be insanely high because of the commissions you get per sale is just so low it's almost criminal.

It even gets to the point where the big hitters, like one of my personal mentors, say that they actually feel conflicted about bringing brand-new people in due to the fact that these brand-new people struggle for years to just break even in their business, and the quantity of those who struggle is just crushing. They even come to a point where they actually stop bringing people in due to the fact that their conscience just tears at them; they are stuck wondering if they truly are doing them a service by bringing them into their MLM business.

So Is There Another Way Out of This New Rat Race?
