The Real Reasons People Will Join Your MLM or Online Business

In the worldwide marketplace,as business owners we are frequently encouraging individuals to join our companies or buy our products. If it's Multi Level Marketing we go out and educate our prospects as to the advantages of our business and the product attached to it. We are amazed when people turn it down because the advantages are so apparent! It consistently astonished me how individuals that were complaining about not having sufficient money or time to do the things they wanted would decline an obviously great option to obtain both. It made me scratch my head in confusion. Much worse was when some of them then turned around and later signed up with the exact same business with another person ?!?

Of course since then I have come to recognize, via those experiences, that humans aren't very reasonable beings. If you happen to be a very analytical individual as I am, the world often does not make much sense because we like to feel that we organize our world as to what will work and what won't (in our minds). Nevertheless, most of mankind doesn't look at issues that way (and in reality not even us analytical kinds do a great deal of times either). Essentially we buy into ideas because of our emotions.

So, this can be a serious obstacle to success due to the fact that emotional states are unforeseeable aren't they? Well, not actually. Exactly what do people desire most? Well if we look around we can see that the majority of individuals strive enthusiastically for products they could undoubtedly really do without and still be comfortable. So why do they/we do it? There are two motivations:

1. We want to look really good - yeah confess it, you feel great driving a Lamborghini as opposed to a politically correct economy car.

AND/OR 2. We crave security which includes cash and belongings. (That of course is a fallacy but it's a sensation we feel nonetheless).

Now frequently doing something which is not the usual 9-5 (such as Multi Level Marketing) doesn't make individuals feel they look good or "respectable" so they will shy away from it - especially if the person who is prospecting them is driving that economy sedan and doesn't appear to be having success with their business yet. Nevertheless, those same prospects feel if they align themselves with an individual driving a Lamborghini or they feel will certainly be driving one very soon, they are more likely to be successful themselves. They reason that there is a greater likelihood of success with a person who already appears to be successful and hence the chance of looking foolish is much lower.

So what it boils down to is this: when we approach a person with our business system or product we HAVE GOT TO provide the genuine underlying value that people are trying to find: that is it needs to give a solution to a long standing issue that individuals have (eg. lack of money, lack of time to do exactly what they desire) In addition we have to not (at the minimum) reduce their standing in their community (as they see it). Even better what we are proposing they involve themselves in should enhance that standing in their eyes. If what we offer strongly offers those two things we will certainly have individuals beating on our doors to let them in to our system of making money. For, realistically, that is what we are selling.

After we were successful in MLM we had a large number of individuals choosing to join with us because we had our dream home and the great auto in addition to lots of travel abroad. They felt they would not look bad doing what we were doing because of the results which were already apparent. But there is yet another way around this problem which does not require prior success or its trappings.

We have chosen to participate in online marketing where we are "prospecting" far from our peer group amongst unfamiliar people all over the planet.The benefit to those people we prospect in this way is that they may join our business in the privacy of their house. Their success or failure will depend on their personal application to the business system and no-one in their community need even know if they are involved. However, when success comes then so do all the trappings if that is what they want.
