Many of you are just logging on to your Facebook accounts, and wondering what happened. Yes, Facebook has done it again. All the post sizes are thrown off, the iFrame Tabs you spent money creating and perfecting are all gone, plus your name is completely throwing off your cover photo.

Lets dive in to the major changes that makes this new Facebook Layout the new current, for better or worse.

Pages Are Now Profiles

Perhaps the biggest change is the integration of once Fan or Company Pages into full-on interacting Profile Pages. Now, companies can interact on the walls of personal profiles. This will no doubt incentivize companies to building more personal digital relationships with their advocates and brand sponsors use their Reply link button. Expect tasteful spam for the next few months from any brand you may have Liked, until Facebook works out exactly how to regulate this.

New Facebook Layout For Personal Profiles

For those who just use the Personal Profile section of Facebook, the new Facebook Layout is what you will care about most. Let us break down from top to bottom the major changes to this new Personal Page for Facebook users.

Multiple News Feeds

Many will say this is a stolen idea from competitor Google+. It is, but it also users to search relevant feeds and divide up their feeds based on friend circles and interest groups. The pictures are much bigger, drawing also from their competitor Tumblr. Down the left side is also a tabs feature in which you can quickly refer to your information and interests. The display is beautiful and the design is simple. All the better to see Aunt Betties viral cat videos!

About Section

This section is now in the left-hand corner, directly below your profile picture. The About Section details your Work, Education, Location, History and RSS Feed Followers.

iFrame Tabs

Gone. I wonder what Pagemodo and Woobox are doing right now? I bet they are not on vacation. iFrame Tabs have been replaced with standard navigation buttons for Timeline, Friends, Photos & More.

Profile Name Location

Your Profile Name is now located to the right of your picture stacked on top of your cover photo. This should only affect your Profile Page if your cover photo extends to the edges. The Cover Photo size remains the same length & width.

About Button

The About button is an expansion of the section on the main Profile Page. This has virtually everything about you. This is where employers will look, marketers will research and future lovers will inspect. This shares everything about you from Contact Information to a breakdown of your Profile Friends, Photo Albums, Places, Music, Movies, Books, Likes, Notes, Pinterest Page, Instagram Page, Foursquare Page, ETSY Page and Tumblr Page.

*This is ultimately what separates Facebook from every other social media site. Facebook is essentially the platform for which other platforms (social media networks) may live on and function through. Smart.

Facebook Ads

For the marketers out there, Facebook has widened your ads a bit, giving you more room to share your message. Ads also rotate should someone stay on the page long enough.
