Good so now we can actually have a constructive conversation. Once you get over the get rich quick phase, you suddenly realize that this is an actual business. How you run the business is ultimately the deciding factor and there's a lot of information out there on this point. It's extremely easy to get overwhelmed with all the information that bombards you and just sifting through even a fraction of that information is a full-time job in itself. How can you properly run your business if all your doing all day is listening to everyone's OPINION about the best methods of online marketing.

Let me be completely honest. If your looking for the method to end all methods, then your search is in vain. You will not find it because the truth is there are many methods and avenues that can lead you to where you want to be. But if you don't know the PRINCIPLES of the online marketing industry then your efforts are for none. If you don't become a student of principle in any area of life then your focus is disorganized and then you become an easy target for information overload. Alleviate all the stress by focusing on principle rather than the methods. There are only three so lets get started.

We'll start with principle one.
Principle 1:
Traffic and lead generator

This consist of many media outlets, (social media, pay per click, seo, blogs, postcards, classifieds etc...). You see all these traffic generation techniques are only crayons in a crayon box. There are plenty of methods but that's all they are is methods. The principle of the matter is that you get traffic from the sources that make sense to you because what works for someone else may not work for you. Just because a teen that grew up in this digitized age is killing it with social media tactics doesn't mean that a middle aged women who hardly gets on to facebook is going to pull traffic in the same fashion. Don't get me wrong, she could learn how but that doesn't mean she has to. Just make sure you focus on getting good at two or three methods and create a message for the people who are most likely to want what you have to offer. This will get you all the eyes you need and create leads for you daily which is ultimately the goal of the first principle. But what do you do with these leads that you get? Lets move on.
Principle 2:
The online marketing pipeline

This step serves a few purposes. First and foremost it captures the time and attention of your lead by providing them valuable information that benefits them and not you. Doing it this way will keep them in the pipeline. These components run on their own without your direct intervention. The most common example is an email autoresponder. Use this opportunity to build a relationship with your customers. They need to get to know and trust you. Tell them your story and why they should listen to anything you say and they will sell themselves.

Second, this step should position you as a leader and expert, not a salesman. This is very important. Nobody likes to be sold. It's a big turn off.

And that brings us to the third element which is to promote an inexpensive retail product through direct response marketing. This is the sales letter that points to your cash register which takes the order for you.
Principle 3:
Ordering system

Once your retail product starts to sell, you will need an online or offline ordering process that easy for your customers to go through. Pretty self explanatory.

So those are the principles. Simple enough? If you focus you attention on these three principles the you are bound for success. you have an actual business model for online marketing that you can follow. Anyone can learn this, but if you don't have a lot of experience in the online marketing industry then it could seem hard at first. But at least if you focus on the principles rather than methods then your learning curve has been cut in half. Don't succumb to scatter brainess (my new term). Zero in on these principles and start running you business.
