Step One – Keyword Research and Content

The first step is to visit www.googlekeywordtool.com and find a key word or key word phrase that is being searched and has relatively low competition. Obviously pick a key word phrase related to what you want to write about and then make it work with your content. The key is to provide value and SEO blog posts.

Once you have your topic, write your post (500 to 700 words) with a specific intention to use your keyword phrase as many times as reasonably possible.

Don't overuse it... it should sound natural.... But if there are instances where you can use your keyword, find a way to make it work. Just for fun: SEO blog Posts ... lol

Step Two – Maximize Keyword Content

In order to SEO blog posts, you'll need to make sure your key word content is over 1% and if possible, over 2%. This is key word content in the body of your article (not including headers). So if you have 600 words in the body of your article, and your keyword phrase is 2 words long, it should show up at least 3 times, but preferably more than 6 times to really tell the search engine that your post is targeted on that key word.

All instances of your keyword should be italicized, underlined and bold. Visit the blog post that corresponds to this article for an example.

Step Three – Keywords in the headers

If you don't know HTML, don't fear, you'll just need the basics which are easy. You'll need three headers that contain your key words. I'll give you and example: if your keyword is "Fuzzy parrots", click the text tab on your blog interface to enter html code and enter the following to create your three different headers:

what are fuzzy parrots
what do fuzzy parrots eat

obviously the content is up to you and you can place these different headers anywhere you want on your post but just make sure that they are there.

I always make a point of doing an H1 header to start my post and have it contain my key word. This way I have my key word in the first sentence of my post, which improves my search engine search-ability for that key word.

FYI, no one is searching for fuzzy parrots on Google so maybe pick a different key word phrase :)

Step 3 – External Links Adjustment

On every external link, you'll need to enter the following right before the ">" :

rel="nofollow"

so for example, a link to Google would normally look like this:

however, I would adjust it to look like this:

Step 4 – Insert ALT tags

It's a good idea to have at least one picture in your blog post with an ALT tag that is your keyword. So if you're writing about fuzzy parrots, put a picture of a fuzzy parrot with an alt tag: 'fuzzy parrots". WordPress will prompt you to insert an alt tag and other platforms should as well.

Step 5 – Key word link

Make at least one instance of your keyword phrase a link to another page on your domain. So for this post, I can write SEO blog posts and have that link to a free video on how to make money blogging since it is also hosted on the Empower Network domain.
