This blog I want to dedicate to all my conpadres in my circle of life, we have so many great memories of our Father and our family that are too numerous to mention. If you allow me just to share one memory that came to my mind this morning of my Father in his greatest hour as a Dad and my worst as a son, yet today I would not trade this memory for nothing in the world.
I was at the Teresita grocery one day during the week many years ago and I told my Dad that I was going to take my one hour lunch break. Instead of getting in my car, I got into a taxi and headed towards the Greyhound bus station. I bought a one way ticket to San Francisco in hope of starting a new life.

During my three day trip on that bus I reflected on all my past actions and terrible decisions I had made. I decide to write my Dad a letter asking for his forgiveness, for all the wrong things I had done and all the shame I had brought him. I told him I was leaving, but I did not tell him where.

When I arrived in San Francisco I really intended to change my ways, but it only took two months before I went down from my exclusive apartment building complex. I was restless so I decided to hit the streets in search of drugs. I met these guys who promise to deliver the merchandise I wanted to my apartment. So when I return to my place I told the security officer at the door that there was some guys coming by and they were going to ask for me ,to please let them in.

About an hour later as I was drinking a beer overlooking the bay, the phone rings and it was the security officer telling me that there was someone asking for me. I told security officer "didn't I tell you to let who ever ask for me in". So I went and open the door for my two brand new drug friends and went back to drinking my beer.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and I yelled for them to come in. As the door open there enter the greatest man I have ever known, it was my Father, his eyes caught mine and he ran to me and embrace me in his arms for what seemed as an eternity. I remember the emotions I felt as he hugged and kiss me. I felt so ashamed and thought," How can this man still love me after all that I have done to him."
He brought me back home and a short time later I gave my life to Christ.

Today I understand that God our Father has also run to us, to love and embrace us in His loving arms. He has prepared a place for us, so we can share the forever with those we have lost, that's the hope we have to be able to see our love ones again. Thank you Papa for giving me a father that was so much like you!!!
