If you are in need of something new in your life you can always try calling on God. Most of us call out to God only as a last means to get a quick fix of something that is broken in our lives. It may be your children or your marriage or a combination of things such, your finances and your marriage. Whatever needs fixing in your life, a move of God will change everything for the better as long as you yield to that invisible hand. I love to tell stories of my life and I plan to share them with you in the future. They will comfort you and inspire you to be the best you can be. So here is how a move of God works in some instances, but be careful not to put God in a box because he moves in mysterious ways.

The supernatural power of God influencing the hearts of men to accomplish all that God has spoken by His Prophets and Apostles is the purpose of each move of God. Even though many have resisted the move of God's Spirit in the past because of sin and unbelief, God's purposes will not be hindered any longer, because the next move of God will be the greatest; and it will be the launching pad that will take the church into maturity and make her all that God has desired her to be.
It is necessary for God to prepare His people before each move of His Spirit, simply because we have traditionalized what God has done in the past. Therefore when a new move of His Spirit manifests in a different form, we fall into the danger of not recognizing it. By not recognizing it we fail to yield to it and fail to fulfill His purposes.
When determining what the next move of God will be, we must first analyze what God has done in the past and try to find a pattern. One thing can be certain that the next move of God will be the greatest and the most glorious. It will conform and transform the church into the image of Christ.
Every time God has moved in the past He has revealed His intentions to an individual or a group of people so that they may pray and believe Him for the reality of His will. Well, here it is the revelation of the next move of God.
Years ago when God called me into the ministry, I was led to go study at the Christian Retreat Center in Bradenton, Florida, directed by Dr. Derstine; a former Mennonite who had experienced a great move of God in his life and was used to usher in the Charismatic movement into the Mennonite Denomination.
The Institute of Ministry was a special course designed in training leaders and laymen in the things of the Spirit. Thousands of students from around the world, from all denominations and movements, have been trained and commissioned from the Institute of Ministry and today they are serving the Lord around the world.
At the school each student was required to be at the Wednesday morning six o'clock prayer service, but only three of us decided to go every morning to pray. We would pray: "Lord, turn up the fire, Mighty God, turn up the fire". We would pray in a very loud voice, travailing, groaning, and shouting to the point of despair. When Wednesday mornings came around all the students would show up to pray at 6:30am, my friends and I would continue praying "Lord, turn up the fire."
One morning I was called into the Dean's office and I was told that many students were complaining about my loud and emotional prayers. I was told to stop praying that way for the sake of others. I submitted, apologized, and waited till that semester was over and all the students had gone home for their two week break. Then my friends and I started to pray again fervently for God to turn up the fire. This went on every morning for the next two weeks.
Finally, the two weeks were over and the students were returning to Institute of Ministry and the Pastoral Training School, along with them came many snow birds that came every winter to live on the retreat grounds. Suddenly, without any notice, warning or any explanation, a revival hit the Christian Retreat grounds; the awareness of God's presence, a glory cloud hung over us for the next three months. During that time we went from three people praying every morning to over three hundred people praying every day. The manifestations of the revival were expressed differently through those who were being touch. Some people would weep and ask forgiveness for their sins. Others danced and shouted for joy under this cloud. There was not one life that was not changed by the revival. News of this revival went out to the surrounding cities and towns, which many churches started opening up their doors every morning for prayer. The whole region was in the middle of a move of God!
I remember many days being in our pastoral training class, when all of a sudden, an awareness of God's presence would come over us, and all of the students would fall to the floor and prostrate themselves in a holy fear in awe of God's presence. It was a genuine visitation of God that had caught everyone by surprise; no word can describe the continual manifestation of God's presences. I was later confronted by the Dean of the Institute of Ministry who now told me to take all the liberty I wanted to shout, scream, and pray as I had been doing before. What an excitement came over that place, but to my surprise some people came against me because of the way that I prayed. They told me that I was a hypocrite for praying out loud, another person came from behind and put her hands over my mouth trying to get me to stop praying, scolding me for my loud prayers. I was humiliated and I told the Lord that I would stay home and pray. But the Lord would not allow me to stay home during the prayer meetings. God did more in those three months than any of man's greatest religious programs.
So, when asked what a move of God is? My reply would have to be, the supernatural power of God influencing the hearts of men to accomplish all that He purposes to do. The next move of God in your life will come in the same fashion, without warning, and without human explanation, crossing all spectrums and boundaries that we have made throughout the years. The only difference is that next move of God will be the greatest and most powerful of all because it will be the one that would bring you and those things around into perfection.
