Sony Pictures Television and AMC have confirmed that there will be a Breaking Bad spinoff series. Breaking bad saw a lot of popularity during its run and new fans can keep enjoying this series with Better Call Saul. This spinoff is based upon the popular Saul Goodman character on the show. The title of the show may change but its Better Call Saul for now.

The prequel will focus on the evolution of Saul Goodman. The series will focus on his life before he became the lawyer of Walter White. Last April, there was talk of a spinoff series but it appears that this is now a reality. Since Breaking Bad is still quite popular, the network feels this show could be a real hit. The network wants to continue the story but look into the past with this show. The popularity of the new show will be up to the viewers as sometimes a spinoff tends to flop because it never captures the originality or the appeal of the first show.

The type of story that will be told about Saul isn't know yet and this will evolve as the show is developed. The producers don't yet know if the show will be about the origins of Saul or how exactly things will play out but there are a lot of possibilities with the Saul character to get into. If the show goes into his past then we will see how he evolved into the character he became on the Breaking Bad show. Saul is a unique character that everyone loves to hate so it's going to be interesting to see what they come up with in this prequel to Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan worked the Saul concept with co-executive producer Peter Gould. The show will be one hour.
