With much luck, a copywriter could snag his audience at headline and have them for good, thanks to the body copy.

Finally, there is the call to action. This answers what type of response the copywriter wants to receive. If he wants to get a call from the audience, he would probably set up vanity numbers (e.g 855 - GETADEAL) at the end of the copy. Yet again, what is copywriting if it gets no hits of reaction?

What is copywriting for the audience?

The receivers of the persuasive message are important success indicators for the copywriter. A copywriter is often viewed as a manipulator of pockets, but the truth is it is still up to the audience if they would like to be moved by a certain ad copy or not. For the audience, copywriting and its product is a reminder or a notification that a certain brand exists... and that they NEED to have, consume, or use that brand NOW. Given this, what is copywriting anyway without the idea of telling people that they indeed have a need? It's just that they don't know it yet.

What is copywriting for a brand?

A product and a brand should not be mistaken to be the other. A product is something in general or a generic "something". For example, saying that a product is a car, then Jaguar is a brand. A brand is the label added to a product. For a brand, copywriting is the way to put it in the consumers' top-of-mind awareness, meaning that when they think of a car, they should think of Jaguar.

In addition, what is copywriting without sales? When consumers choose a certain brand, copywriting is the one that takes the brand to its gross stage where its sales will grow. The next stage for a brand would be its maturity stage and thanks to copywriting, the sales will reach the highest peak. Eventually, the brand will face the stage of decline and still need copywriting to be there. After all, what is copywriting without the challenge of reviving a declining brand through new campaigns?

Every key player in the success of copywriting has various ways to define it. It is of the essence to put oneself in the shoes of each of these key players in order to come up with an irresistible message that will surely put a brand to its retentive stage where it gains loyalty, recall, and repeat purchase time and time again.
