If you've heard, for example, of Indian holy men who could do things like lie down on a bed of nails, bury their head in the ground, or sit without moving, eating, or sleeping for days on end, then you already have a fair idea of how immense the power of the mind is. The holy men who have done all these did not seem to suffer from negative effects afterwards. In fact, they rarely seem to suffer from any kind of illness at all. Most die tranquilly of very old age.
This is the greatest proof that meditation, especially in addition to music healing and other methods, is effective in keeping the body healthy. For masters of meditation, even if an illness develops, it could be a simple matter to use the mind's healing power over the body to eliminate the disease.
Another proof of the mind's power could be observed in how a lot of our ailments today are related to the mind. It could even be said that sometimes, it is the mind itself which creates poor health. If that is indeed true, then it means that the opposite is also true: the mind could make illnesses go away.
