Types of Dirt Bikes

Dirt bikes are those lightweight motorcycles meant for you to ride off-road. Designs of these bikes include suspensions and rugged tires. They are created with handling cross country over different terrain such as mud, dirt and rocks in mind. These dirt bikes are close to motorcycles especially their tires and suspensions that allow them to ride on uneven and/or rough terrain.

Trail Riders
Trail riders can go for trails and rough terrain. They are meant to handle long rides and pass through rough lands. They don't jump well, though, and they are not created with intents of high-speed racing.
These dirt bikes are usually lightweight; they also come with long suspensions, minimal plastic framing and larger tires. Trail riders closely resemble enduro bikes, as their foot pegs has a more natural position to give riders a comfortable ride; their handles are placed higher so that turning at slow speeds will be easier.
Motocross
Motocross is a famous sport so perhaps you've heard and seen the sport - these dirt bikes such as the 150cc dirt bikes for motocross are the kinds of bikes created with racing in mind. Bikes like these are built to be ridden on dirt tracks with jumps as well as rough terrain.
These bikes are made light - they have no lights, speedometers, electric starters, mirrors or kickstands to weigh them down and are apparently not needed when on the race track. Since motocross riders are usually standing up, then comfort is not a priority for this kind of dirt bike.
Dual-Sport
To make dual-sport bikes street-legal, they have to be equipped with turn signals, mirrors and headlights. These bikes can be ridden over asphalt or dirt surfaces.
This kind of bike is recommended for new riders as its controls are in plain sight and can be easier to balance compared to other bike types. They are also cheaper because not much chrome and plastic is used.
Enduro
As its name implies, enduro bikes are made with endurance in mind. They are created in relation to long races and in different kinds of surfaces. An enduro bike looks a lot like the motocross bike but the former is created for a different reason. There are enduro 150cc dirt bikes as well.
Enduro bikes are made for longer races plus rough land. They have abundant suspension plus lack of personal comforts, though, so they are not recommended for casual and long-distance road trips.
