These things will become the foundation of how they behave, and how they make decisions. Priorities matter in the sense that they cause people to think and behave the way they do. It is much easier to improve oneself if he or she knows the things that are important to him or her.

Knowing oneself includes knowing one's flaws and weaknesses. These weaknesses, however, are not meant to bring anybody down. They do not exist to make someone feel bad about himself or herself. Rather, flaws and weaknesses exist in order to serve as a motivation. Weaknesses help a person realize where and when he or she needs improvement. They help a person become better and thus, grow. Personal growth can be achieved by utilizing these weaknesses as tools to become stronger and whole. By recognizing that nobody is perfect, and that everyone is bound to make mistakes, people will tend to take weaknesses as positive instruments to change for the better.

It is also important to welcome and explore opportunities. For example, when there is a new job offering that a person knows best suits him or her, he or she should not hesitate to try it out. Besides, there is no harm in trying. By opening oneself to opportunities, he or she will be able to discover his or her potentials. These potentials will be useless if one does not maximize them. It is therefore important to make use of those skills in improving and developing oneself.

Learning new things can help a person grow better. An individual must not settle in what he or she already knows. He or she must always be open to possibilities of learning and discovering new things in life. For example, he or she may educate himself or herself with marketing strategies, how to bake a cake, running a business, and a lot more ventures.

Learning new things will not only make him or her better in many fields, it will also open him or her to so many possibilities that may lead to his or her success. Engaging in new activities and experiences that one has not done before will help him or her to become versatile and flexible. He or she will be capable of doing many different things that can help him or her develop himself or herself.

Lastly, personal growth requires that a person knows how to set a goal in life. A person, after knowing his or her priorities, weaknesses, and opportunities, must now have a target in mind. He or she might think of becoming a company owner, a lawyer, or a teacher. By having a goal, one's actions and decisions are directed and he or she will not lose track. By doing these things, a person brings himself or herself closer to success.
