In case you just want to shed some pounds and not tone or enhance anything, you should try cardio exercises such as brisk walking, jogging, biking, dancing and others as these involve oxygen. These cardio exercises are also warm ups for bodybuilding exercises, but are done more intensely. If you want to try bodybuilding, it is advisable that you reset your goals and manage your schedule because bodybuilding exercises require a lot more time and commitment than simple fitness exercises.

If you are a homebody and you have the means to buy exercise equipment for home, then go ahead and do it. This way, you can do your exercises at the most convenient time for you. A treadmill at home would be a great convenience if used regularly. It is not meant to just sit in your garage or attic, or worse, just sitting in your living room and giving your guests the wrong impression that you work out regularly.

If you can do your workout for four times a week within three months, you can see a slight change in your body afterwards. However, if you want to see a huge difference, then you need to extend your routine to six months. You can change your routine after six months and bring it to the next level. It is very important that you do your routine faithfully in order to achieve the type of body you want.

Of course, health and fitness goals cannot only be achieved just by working out. You should also have a proper diet. A proper diet has different food types in one plate. These food groups are known as the go, glow and grow foods.

The Go group is made up of of carbohydrates that provide the energy you need which you can get from eating rice, bread, and oats. The Glow group, on the other hand, contains vitamins and minerals needed by your body for immunity. It also makes your skin glow as it provides natural nutrients for healthier skin. Examples of these are fruits and vegetables. As for the Grow group, it includes nutrients you need for strength and growth such as protein, calcium, and iron. You can get these nutrients from meat, eggs, yogurt, and dairy products like butter and cheese.

Furthermore, rest is just as important as eating and working out. Without rest, you easily get fatigued which surely leads to unwanted illnesses. Remember that you should get at least seven hours of sleep a day in order to be fully prepared for the next day s tasks.
