Cost of Painting a House
I get really excited when I get an enquiry about the cost of painting a house, I'm a decorator and that sounds like they want a whole house decorated. So I want the customer to be more precise and tell me exactly what they want me to do. It just so happens that the customer does want the whole house decorated and I replied that I will be at the address the next day.

I get to the address a bit early, all clean and tidy like I am on my first date, I want this job and I will do my best to get it and at the right price. I have my brief case with Dulux colour book, tape measure, digital camera and note book and ballpoint pen, I look like I am a pro and I ask all the right questions. The customer is a buy to let guy and he found my name on one of my flyers that I put around the nicer parts of town. He shows me round the property and wants to know the all in cost of painting a house.

The property is empty which is great, because that means I can move around easily and get the job done quicker. It's not in bad condition and the customer wants' white ceilings, magnolia walls and white woodwork, that's perfect for me and I Work out how long it will take me and I give him an all in price. He is really pleased with the cost of painting a house and only wants to know how soon I can start the job. I don't want to appear that I haven't got any work on at the moment so I say I can start in 2 weeks but I will require a deposit upon starting and the balance upon completion subject to the work being satisfactory.

The customer agrees with my quotation which I put in writing and gave a one year guarantee on all my work titled the cost of painting a house. The day of starting the job arrived and so did I with all the materials needed and all the tools and equipment to get the job done. My first job is to first coat all the ceilings with brilliant white matt emulsion, well that took me a couple of hours and a couple of cups of coffee. I looked around the walls looking for any filling to be done and filled where necessary. The next day we finished coating the ceilings, now we can start on the magnolia for the walls, well that took another couple of days and the house was starting to look really well. Well it's just the woodwork left now and we rub down and prepare the woodwork, undercoat and top coat with Dulux and the jobs finished.
The customer is really pleased with the cost of painting a house and the finished job, I am paid and it's of to the next job.
