Affiliate Marketing is a strategy whereby companies are hiring people to boost their product sales through internet marketing. The people hired by the companies are called the affiliates. The affiliates are tasked to convince buyers to buy the product online. This is done by referring them to the main page or website of the company. If a sale is made using the site or the page of the affiliate, he will receive a commission.

Because of affiliate marketing, bloggers can now earn from their blogs. All they have to do is to enrol in an affiliate marketing program of a company. After the company accepts them as an affiliate, the bloggers can now promote the products using their blogs.
Advantages of a Blogger as an Affiliate Marketer
Bloggers already have followers. The more followers the bloggers have, the easier it would be for them to promote the product of the company. Once they update their page, their followers are easily notified. Thus, allowing a certain customer base to see the promotions of the product.

Bloggers already have the trust of their followers. When the bloggers write reviews about the products and/or endorse them, their followers are likely to check the link and are more likely to buy the products being promoted.

Blogs are easier to hook up with social media sites such as twitter, facebook, pinterest and instagram. When the bloggers write something about the product in his blogs, the same can be viewed in the social media sites.

Since the bloggers have more channels for advertising, it is easier for them to create a traffic generation scheme to their blog, which will subsequently increase traffic, leads and visit to the company�s website.

Bloggers do not have to maintain the structure of their website or their web page. They do not have to be concerned as to how to create banners for advertising. They only have to focus on the contents of their blogs and on how they can insert the unique link given to them by the company to earn commissions.

They do not need to sacrifice their views or opinions when writing their contents just to promote the product. They can choose when or how they would promote the products. They can remain to be committed to their main readers while promoting a product.
Limitations to the Blogger as an Affiliate Marketer

Affiliate Marketing is commissioned-based. The company does not pay the affiliate a fix amount to promote their product. Thus, the company does not have any control over how frequent the bloggers may promote their product. It would all have to depend on the drive of the bloggers to earn.

Another aspect that limits the potential of the bloggers in affiliate marketing, aside from the personal drive of the bloggers to earn, is the kind of blog the bloggers maintains. If the blog is concentrated in a certain topic, such as fashion or health, the bloggers may not be able to intensively promote products that are outside the main topic or niche of his blog.

Despite these limitations, bloggers still have more potential to succeed in the business of affiliate marketing.
