If a sponsor tells you it will be simple and you will get rich fast, this isn't true for people who are just starting out. One key question in any business venture is how quickly will you get your money back. Once you get your money back, everything you make after that is profit. Ask and research whether or not it is well advertised by the company. Also, find out if it's a good quality product and not something that can be acquired at a much lower cost from a local store. Is the product patented? Is there much competition? Will people want to buy the product in 10 years time? If they do not, then the product and your business will both vanish. You certainly don't want to pour your time and money into building a business that could disappear in a few short years. Obviously, that risk is there with any business, but there is no need to even start one that has a great chance of that happening from the start.

If you have a company that you have identified, I suggest you get on forums and find other people who have already started with that company.

You'll have to look out for negative people on forums. Forums tend to attract complainers and you will typically not find the most successful people in the company hanging out in forums. I'm not saying forums are bad but it just has been my experience over the years. Take the comments in a forum with a grain of salt. It's a good place to gather some of your facts, but don't base your entire decision on what you find there. The attrition rate is very high in any MLM business, typically because people think they're going to make money from day one, or they don't put in any effort. So, you will be able to find negative comments on every forum, on most if not all companies.

If you want a successful home-based MLM business you will have to work hard, find out more about your product and company and commit a lot of time to your business. It is very important that you discover everything about the business before investing your precious money and precious time into it. Get very clear just how much time and money you will have to invest. Set realistic targets, develop a plan and get to work.
