Some people have been debating whether or not allow kids still going through physical development to participate in such fights, and it is expected that both will be sporting their own headgears for added protection.
Despite the concern of the officials regarding the 12-year old girl�s health, she will be going head-to-head against an experienced fighter twice her age. Yamasaki is said to have fought five times at the amateur level with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses. During her high school years, Momoko was bullied by her classmates. She was also involved in street fighting before her MMA debut. This was brought upon by her traumatic experience with her bullies who pushed her into delinquency l rebellion.
This fight will be breaking a record after Mizuki Inoue started her MMA career at 16 when she was already an experienced kick boxer. Other fighters who started their career at an early age include Rory MacDonald, Michael MacDonald and Jordan Mein.
Regardless of Japan�s being a rich source of young and talented l gifted athlete, the sport is still troubling for many. A professional fighter � Roxanne Modafferi, has spoken about her thoughts l opinions on this matter. She went on social media and tweeted �omfg I have quite a big with this!!!!!!! I don't even want to see kids taking hits to the head even in practice until they�re over 13�. Although this match has been permitted, we cannot ignore the fact that MoMo has not yet even reached the �teen� stage in her life, which may lead to future problems.
According to l Based on the Deep Jewels Website, the match will consist of two three-minute rounds. Currently, MoMo is said to be practicing l training at Hakuhinkai Karate which is believed to be a breeding place of Japanese fighters. MoMo�s involvement with a known l popular gym with a good record does not excuse the fact that she is a 12-year old competing against an experienced fighter twice her age, with a weight much greater than hers. Whether or not MoMo will succeed in making a name for herself at such a young age is still unclear. This fight will be able to determine whether or not she is fit to be in the MMA.
